Lensu is a fresh young clothing line that gives us a fun way to help save the oceans. We work towards engaging our shoppers with bright tropical designs, while at the same time bringing awareness to the urgent issue of ocean plastic pollution. Made from 100% recycled materials, Lensu offers fashionable scarves that add an extra pop to our creative lifestyles. They can be worn in any number of distinctive ways to make a bold statement that proudly says, “We too, care about the oceans.”
A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO ACHIEVE A COMMON GOAL
As the world’s ocean pollution begins to arrive on our shores, we look for sustainable ways to keep our beaches clean and to protect our fragile marine ecosystems. As tourism plays a crucial part in our island’s economy, environmental protection has taken on a pivotal role in the future of Curaçao. Many Caribbean reefs, like those in Curaçao, stand a good chance of survival if local pressures are minimized. Several organizations on our island are working diligently to help restore and protect Curaçao's reefs by tackling these issues island wide, and by coordinating beach and underwater clean-ups.
SUSTAINABILITY IN FASHION
With a forward-thinking vision, Lensu focuses on engaging the new generations of our local community. As the island’s trendsetters, we hope to give them a creative voice through fashion, that equips them with the tools to create meaningful change. By creating a unique fashion brand that appeals to everyone, this gives the community an easy and fun way to participate in cleaning up our oceans. With fabric that is silky soft, and unique prints that replicate the bright colors so typical to our tropical island, joining our journey towards sustainability is hard to resist.
HELP US PROTECT OUR OCEANS
Each scarf amounts to 5 plastic bottles collected from our own beaches. For every scarf purchased, you are helping to clean the oceans and beaches of our island, and to restore the fascinating wildlife in our underwater world. Production of these scarves keeps plastic bottles out of the ocean. The plastics are sorted by color, sterilized, and processed for recycling to create a soft polyester yarn. Our custom designs are digitally printed to make the flowing fabrics come to life. Every scarf is hand-illustrated and inspired by iconic imagery from our beautiful Island.
